Location: Jacksonville, FL (must reside in or near Jacksonville)
Travel: Approximately 70% nationwide travel required

Coastal Specialty Door Contractors (Coastal SDC) is a nationwide provider of specialized industrial and commercial door installation, service, and maintenance. We work in demanding environments and pride ourselves on quality workmanship, safety, and reliability.
This position is designed as an entry-level role with a clear career path. The goal is to train and develop motivated individuals into Door Installation Technicians.
Position Summary
The Door Installation Assistant works alongside experienced Door Installation Technicians to support the installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial and commercial doors across the United States. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, dependable, and eager to learn a skilled trade while traveling.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist Door Installation Technicians with the installation, servicing, and repair of industrial and commercial doors
• Load, unload, organize, and maintain tools, materials, and equipment
• Prepare job sites and ensure work areas are clean, organized, and safe
• Follow safety procedures and company standards at all job sites
• Assist with measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing door components
• Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
• Travel nationwide to job sites, including overnight and multi-week projects
• Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with coworkers and clients
• Learn industry skills and techniques with the goal of advancement to Door Installation Technician
Schedule & Travel Expectations
• Nationwide travel approximately 70% of the time
• Travel projects may require overnight stays and multi-week assignments
• While traveling: typical workweek is approximately 56 hours, Monday–Sunday
• Local jobs: generally Monday–Saturday
• Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours may be required depending on job site demands
• Paid overtime in accordance with company policy
• Travel expenses and lodging are company-paid or reimbursed
Pay & Benefits
• Starting pay at $18/hour, based on experience
• Paid overtime
• Company-paid lodging and travel expense reimbursement while traveling

Qualifications
Required:
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
• Ability and willingness to travel nationwide
• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, lifts, and around machinery and equipment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
• Eagerness to learn and interest in building a long-term career
Preferred (Not Required):
• Background in construction, mechanical work, or a related trade
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing
• Exposure to industrial environments, including machinery, equipment, and varying weather conditions
• Must be able to safely perform physical tasks associated with industrial door installation
